Subject: Steering Committee members wanted
Good evening everyone,
It looks as if the Fairpoint people were correct.. The e-mail came back to me, and I assume that everyone received my test e-mail. Now, let's get down to the task at hand- CONVINCE OUR FELLOW MAINE VOTERS TO REPEAL THE SCHOOL CONSOLIDATION LAW.
I have scheduled a meeting for next Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 9AM in Augusta to plan what we can do between now and election day to convince Maine voters to repeal the school consolidation law. The facts are clearly in our favor. The question is how do we communicate the information to the public.
We need to have people become involved in at least three endeavors- 1. Fund raising 2. Communications- writing press releases, letters to the editor, public speaking, radio and television interviews, and asking everyone you meet to vote YES on referendum question 3 to repeal the school consolidation law. (I am asking everyone I talk with to vote YES on question 3. It has been very encouraging the positive response people give.) 3. Making and distributing posters in your community and particularly in the urban communities. You all will have other ideas to offer- so please send them along so that we can coordinate this effort all across the State.
Are there six volunteers out there who will take responsibility for fund raising in their community or county? Please contact me by return e-mail or by cell phone 460-1260. My answering machine does not currently work at home.
I apologize for such short notice about the meeting next week and for it being on a week day. It is my intention that this will be the only meeting we have, and future communications will be by e-mail or telephone. It will be possible to be involved in the meeting by telephone if you cannot travel to Augusta. I know that you are all busy, but we have six weeks to make our case to the Maine voters. I hope to have your continuing support and to hear from you. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Skip
