As usual, Prof. Donaldson's analysis is simple, clear, and on the mark. But
he errs in assuming the Commissioner's trash talk is about saving money for
the state. It is now, as it has always been, about asserting her
department's control over Maine's educational landscape.
Local control? That's so 20th Century. Get over it.
