[Local-Maine-Schools] Collection of signatures

Good evening everyone,

A big thank you to all who collected signatures.

I do not have a lot of returns yet.  I know about the collection of about 4287 signatures, which does not include Portland or Lewiston.  I collected 60 signatures in Bangor at the Community Center while Pat Sirois collected 245 at the Civic Center.  I have not seen any figures, but I suspect that turnout was very low, maybe even low in the 1st Congressional District.  The turnout in Bangor was pathetic.  So I suspect we have some more work to do to get us to 60000.  I have asked Dick Dyer to keep his collectors working.

Please have any signatures you collected verified by the city/town clerk , have your signature notarized, and send them to me as soon as poss-
ible.    Please let me know by e-mail that you are sending them so that I can keep an eye out for them.  My mailing address is PO Box 52, Stonington, Me. 04681
