Good evening everyone,
There has been a lot of organizational work done by the volunteer coordinators in the various counties as well as Dick Dyer finding a significant number of collectors to collect signatures in the urban areas.
In addition, I've reviewed the primary results from two years ago (2006)
when there was a primary for governor.
The following is a list of cities and towns where we have not collected
many, if any, signatures. The number next to the community is the number of votes which were cast in June 2006 primary. The reason I am printing this particular list is that these are the communities where we are looking to find people to collect signatures. If you are willing to collect signatures at the polls or know anyone who might collect signatures at the polls in these communities, please contact me as soon as possible.
Brunswick- 1647 Gorham- 936
Harpswell- 1122 Standish- 908
Westbrook- 1049 Windham- 1395
Rumford- 1010 Bath- 769
Topsham- 963 Biddeford- 1778
Saco- 918 Sanford- 1084
I have been sending out petitions to people who have ben requesting them. Please e-mail as soon as possible if you need more petitions. We have plenty. I also have plenty of brochures which I am more than happy to send anyone.
A big thank you to Bucket Davis who drove to Mars Hill last Thursday
night to meet with legislators, selectmen, school board members, sup-
erintendents and others in an effort to raise money to offset our expenses. I regret not being able to make the trip myself. Unfortunate-
ly a nasty flu bug attacked me on Wednesday and all I did for two days was sleep. And thank you to Roger Shaw for hosting the meeting.
Thank you to all who are working so hard again to collect the remaining signatures we need to file the petition. The next time I e-mail you I'll make a list of the remaining urban areas where we have people collecting signatures.
Sincerely,
Skip
